On-loan attacker Izzy Brown may have to wait until March for his Leeds United debut, as Head Coach Marcelo Bielsa revealed today that he needs another six or seven U23 games before being considered for selection.

Brown joined from Chelsea in the Summer window but was not expected to play until January, as the 21-year-old was still in recovery from a previous injury picked up whilst at Brighton.
It has been reported that Leeds will not actually pay any of Brown’s wages until he makes a senior team appearance, however, with Samu Saiz returning on loan to Spain and Lewis Baker being recalled by Chelsea, the Whites are now low on attacking midfielders.
The Chelsea man initially looked on course to make his comeback on schedule, until he suffered an injury setback whilst playing a U23’s game back in December.
Bielsa is a stickler for fitness and match sharpness, and he won’t just throw Brown in if he needs to fill a hole on the team sheet, meaning the former Huddersfield man will have to work hard to prove he is ready.
Other injured players Barry Douglas and Stuart Dallas are back in full training and will feature in the development game on Monday night, with a view to being back in the squad for Norwich the following Saturday.
