‘Breaks my heart” – These Leeds supporters react to Daniel James’ goal
Leeds United fans have been reacting after Daniel James scored a debut goal for Manchester United against Chelsea.
The Welsh winger very nearly became a Leeds player in January, but Swansea pulled the plug on the deal at the last minute.
Therefore, the 21-year-old was forced to stay at the Swans until the summer.
Instead of finally joining the Yorkshire club once the transfer window reopened, he opted to join their great rivals Manchester United.
His Old Trafford career couldn’t have got off to a better start either. He came off the bench late on and scored the fourth goal as the Red Devils hammered Chelsea on the opening day.
Seeing James produce the goods in the Premier League hurt a number of Leeds fans as he showed the Whites exactly what they missed out on.
One Twitter user stated that he was certain his team would have been promoted had they landed the winger, while another said that seeing him score in a United shirt makes him feel sick.
This will probably come up a lot this season, but just imagine if we did actually get Dan James over the line in January? I’m certain we’d have gone up. #LUFC

There was one saving grace for the fanbase though. James’ goal compiled the misery onto Frank Lampard. Many supporters were happy to see Lampard falter on the opening day, so this goal had at least one positive impact for the Elland Road faithful.
Daniel James comes on and makes it 4-0 for scum ?. Ah well at least Frank lampard is crying again. #lufc
